There are 3 engines which has carried on from BS4 to BS6 (H series,

VEDX5 & mPower). There are 2 engines which are fresh

in the market (ISBe 5.6 and OM 926)

Bigger engines will certainly help in boosting performance,

smaller engines are for higher fuel efficiency

6 Cylinders provides the assurance of performance & engine life

whereas 4 cylinder engines assures higher kmpl

Mahindra drivers can feel better acceleration and speed on

highway with lesser pressing of accelerator

There was a time when FIS was dominated by BOSCH only, but

now there is full presence of DENSO and CUMMINS as well

Tata, Eicher & Mahindra drivers will be able to tune engine performance

with FE switch depending upon load and gradient for higher KMPL

This feature is very much required in BS6 as the driving parameters

have changed. Drivers will be able to achieve higher kmpl

if they follow the advise

Pure SCR is a globally proven mechanism in bigger engines.

EGR+SCR combination will reduce AdBlue consumption

Bigger clutch offers better power transmission & longer life.

Smaller clutch have lower cost of replacement

Tata & Bharat Benz have the advantage of inhouse gearbox

for warranty resolution and parts availability.

ZF & Eaton by AL, Eicher & Mahindra however have the global track record

Bharat Benz with higher CGR/FGR is most likely to have best pulling in crawler and 1st gear.

However 6 speed gearbox in TML, AL, Eicher & Mahindra may help them in

mileage in around 5th-6th gear operation
