ISBe 5.6 is smaller version of Cummins ISBe 6.7. There used to be ISBe 5.9 engine in BS4
Compact than BS4 5.9L engine, yet capable of generating more power & torque
6 cylinder engine offers the reliability factor for those who are looking for non stop & heavy duty performance from the vehicle
BS6 version of the truck will offer better acceleration than BS4
There is substantial increase in pulling & climbing ability in BS6 version. Downshifting frequency of gears will reduce
Cummins ISBe 5.6 comes with Cummins own FIS for better control on warranty and service
Light, medium & heavy mode buttons for different load & gradient conditions for higher KMPL
As power & torque nodes have changed in BS6, GSA will be quite useful in selection of right gears for higher KMPL
Non EGR strategy allows better diesel combustion and less soot emission
Same clutch continued from BS4
G-950 gearbox provides a better combination of pulling as well as running ability. G-750 has been provided for underload applications
Higher FGR of 9.36 has been provided for better load pulling. Lower FGR of 8.47 has been provided for better underload movements on highways
28T vehicle has been upgraded with axles that are getting used in Tata 35T & 42T trucks
Both shallower RAR will help in faster movement on highways as well as achieving higher KMPL
Auxiliary downhill braking mechanism for safety and longer service brake liner life
Better cabin comfort & longer leaf life. No need of greasing due to rubber bushings
Proven mechanism for heavy load on Indian roads. Bell cranks however usually have multiple of greasing points
1.5 mm thicker channel W.R.T BS4, but no selective reinforcement. The upgraded frame is expected to increase tyre life
Double fuel tank option is available on 32ft. Lesser stoppage for fuel refilling
Need to refill AdBlue at an interval of 5400 km (If KMPL is 4.5)
1.6 inch wider & 1 inch taller (Dia) tube tyre in comparison to 10R20 for better road grip, longer tyre life and higher KMPL
Considerable increase of TAW in BS6. Load pulling ability and gradeability has gone up in BS6
