This engine is smaller version of Cummins ISBe 6.7, It's a change from BS4 where it used to be ISBe 5.9
Compact than BS4 5.9L engine but capable of generating more power & torque
6 cylinder offers the assurance of heavy duty performance & longer life

Better load pulling & climbing ability than BS4
Cummins ISBe 5.6 comes with Cummins FIS for better control on warranty and service
Light, medium & heavy mode button for different load & gradient scenarios for higher KMPL
Assists in selection of right gear for higher KMPL as power and torque nodes have changed in BS6
Non EGR strategy allows better diesel combustion and less soot emission
Same clutch continued from BS4. Clutch life will be longer than BS4 version due to higher engine torque
1st-2nd-3rd Gear offers better puling and 4th-5th-6th gear have been designed for mileage and speed
Higher first gear ratio helps in better pulling and initial pickup of the vehicle
This is an improvement from 35 ton after the model converted to 40 ton
Shallower RAR helps in faster movement on highways & also help achieve higher KMPL
Engine brake has better downhill braking response and safety along with longer service brake liner life and KMPL
Better cabin comfort & longer leaf life. No greasing required due to rubber bushing
Semi elliptical suspension is rugged and good for trailer vibrations & load
Kept similar to BS4
Tata replaced their traditional metallic fuel tank with polymer tank for strength and safety
Need to refill AdBlue at an interval of 4100 Km (If KMPL is 3.4)
1.6 inch wider & 1 inch taller (Dia) tube tyre in comparison to 10R20 for better road grip, longer life and higher KMPL
Considerable TAW increase in BS6. Positive impact on load pulling ability and gradeability
